Weather

Beijing is located in the northern part of the North China Plain at 39กใ56' north latitude and 116กใ20' east longitude. And it is surrounded by mountains in the east, north and west. It has a continental monsoonal  climate and thus has four clearly defined seasons.

In August, the average temperature is about 24 degrees Celsius. The maximum  can reach 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum, 12 degrees.

August is also a rainy season. The annual precipitation is about 700 mm which  concentrates mainly in summer. But it is usually showers and thunder storms lasting just one hour.

As the congress venue and hotels are all air-conditioned, and so are the shuttle buses, the delegates can have a comfortable stay in Beijing.

Climate
Beijing's climate is defined as "continental monsoon". The four seasons are distinctly recognizable.
